Workers exposed to a chemical used in making rubber products were twice as likely to develop colon cancer and four times as likely to develop bone marrow cancer, compared with the general population, according to a U.K.-based study. Researchers said the risk is likely limited to factory workers exposed to the chemical -- 2-mercaptobenzothiazole, or MBT -- but that it should be treated as a human carcinogen. Reuters (01/20)
